I am so sick of buying expensive dresses for weddings that I'll wear once. Yes, I know it's ideal to buy one that you'll wear again and again, but sometimes you find yourself in a time crunch, I had 7 days.
On Sunday I had a soft inclination, what if I checked out Zara for just a moment? Sure they're fast fashion and sure we can go down that rabbit hole, but I need something fast. Unfortunately I can't find a vintage Yves Saint Laurent gown in a pinch for under $200 or go shopping endlessly everyday while I have a full time job. I take a peek with an open mind, swallowing my pride and quickly scrolled over to suddenly stop at the glance of a black tiered ruffle high low maxi halter dress.
Like a sign from heaven, the words Saint Laurent Fall 2025 flooded my mind. Tired ruffles, high low maxi silhouettes—a trend this year I have fallen in love with—10 denier tights, pumps, aviators, and my boxes continued to check off.
I knew it was right when I felt exhilaration and excitement, placing my order with the confidence of it working out...but we all know how these dresses sometimes don't fit correctly.
With my background in styling at FWRD, I felt confident in my grown skills to successfully execute the vision to elevate this dress. Upon its arrival, I was hesitant as I wished a few things were pinned, shortened, and cut, but it was just enough.
4 days later I slipped on my 10 denier tights, stepped into leather black pumps, buttoned up the dress over my body, glossed my lips, and covered my eyes with Tom Ford, leaving more than satisfied.
